Registered CWHBA
Registered Palomino Horse Association, U.S.A.

A powerful and athletic warmblood stallion combining quality and superior rideability with an excellent temperament, three good basic gaits, natural impulsion and tremendous jumping scope and style. These qualities are consistently reproduced in his foals. He is the proven sire of top quality amateur and professional horses in dressage, hunters, jumpers and combined training.

When bred to Thoroughbred mares, Gelan consistently added substance and height to the foals. His foals out of warmblood mares are of the modern riding type. All of Gelan's foals have good bone and excellent feet. 50% of Gelan's foals are colored, with both buckskin and palomino of good color! Check out the photos of Elmes Bentley in the jumper ring.

While Gelan's pedigree says jumper, he himself was a successful dressage competitor and sired many good dressage progeny. From his dam he inherited a tremendous willingness to work which is evident in his foals. Gaylorn was a solid combined training competitor up to the advanced level and was still competing in dressage into her late teens. Glencoe, was a highly regarded imported Hanoverian sport horse sire in British Columbia who produced many top competition horses and is proving an excellent broodmare sire.

Gelan daughter Southern Nova tied for 2nd in the Nation of 159 mares inspected in 1999 for Canadian Warmblood. In 2000, at the Open Mare test run by the German Westfalen Breeders, she was the 2nd highest scoring Jumper of 18 mares shown. Another daughter, Ghazi, was also scored a premium and was in the top 20% of all mares inspected that year! Check out Gelan's progeny page for photographs of these two girls.

Other progeny continue to exel in sport - Southern Diplomat, now retired, competed successfully to the Open jumpers; new photos and results for Elmes Bentley competing in the jumpers, and the young Bravo Express & Georgio starting to show the same talent in jumpers. Other successful Gelan offspring can be seen in the dressage ring and the event field.

Some of Gelan's performance progeny are shown on his offspring page.
