Profile: Mirrabook Farms was established by partners Marilyn Powell and Lynne Robinson in 1982. Over the past two decades the farm has become recognized as a prominent breeder of sport horses and warmbloods in British Columbia and Canada. This dynamic partnership offers a wealth of diverse experience and expertise to the sport horse industry. Both Marilyn and Lynne have been active dressage competitors and trained for many years with Dietrich von Hoppfgarten as well as other clinicians as available. Marilyn, as a certified coach with both the Canadian Equestrian Federation and CanTRA (Therapeutic Riding), has coached students in dressage, eventing & low jumpers from entry level to recognized and national levels of competition so has a good working knowledge of the requirements for these disciplines. Today, Marilyn manages the stallions and supervises their competition & breeding season during the year. She has been a National Director for the Canadian Warmblood Horse Breeders Association for several years and is Past President of the British Columbia Chapter. Lynne is the barn manager and oversees the day to day operations and herd health of the stallions, broodmares, young stock and sales horses. This includes the handling of broodmares for breeding and the early handling and training of young stock. Lynne is a graduate of the University of B.C. with a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture and a special interest in equine nutrition. |
